Billinudgel sits at the north west of the Byron Shire and is a sleepy retired rail hub, once upon a time transporting local fruit and vegetables to the markets.
The name Billinudgel is derived from the Bundjalung 'Bilihnadhihl' meaning 'once belonged to a parrot'
